Things You’ll Need in Order to Make Bingo Ball Baubles
You don’t need luxurious materials or top-notch equipment to make these decorations. In fact, you probably have everything you need in your home. Before starting to make the bingo ball decorations, quickly go through the checklist:
- 1 polystyrene ball
- 20-centimeters-long ribbon
- About 50 white buttons
- Between 100 and 200 colored buttons of different shapes and sizes
- A few dozen pearl head pins
Making Your Christmas Bingo Ball
Step 1 – The first thing you got to do is decide on which ball you’re going to make. Of course, our advice is to choose your lucky number. In this example, we used the number 3, which, to be honest, is not the easiest pick. If you don’t want to put too much effort in making this decoration, simply go with numbers with straight sides, like 1 or 7.
In order to do the numbers on the ball properly, use dark-colored buttons and pins.
Step 2 – To make the Christmas ball look as similar as a real bingo ball, use colored buttons to create a circle around the number, just like we did in the example bellow.
Be aware that it won’t be easy to create a perfect circle. Still, you can make a pretty good one if you go with very small buttons.
Step 3 – Fill in the empty area around the number with white buttons. At this point, you should also add a circle of white buttons just behind the colored circle.
Step 4 – The fourth step is to fill the remaining empty area, that is, the other half of the ball, with colored buttons.
Step 5 – The Christmas bingo ball is done! However, you still need to add a ribbon in order to be able to put the ball on the Christmas tree.
Other Ideas for Bingo-Themed Christmas Decorations
It seems that making a bingo ball out of buttons and pins seems as a superb idea. Another good idea is not to use buttons at all, but pins all the way! Surely, this will take a bit longer, but the result should be even more impressive.
Perhaps an even better is to use PVA glue and glitter! Simply draw the number with the glue and sprinkle glitter on it. When it’s dry, spread the glue all around the number and cover it with colored glitter. When it dries, you will get a funny colored bingo ball.
These are just some of our ideas. If you have your own way of making bingo Christmas decorations, feel free to send us photos!
